Research Priorities:

  • Supervision of Subproject 3: Variability of Biomass Production and of N Status in Plants
  • Effects of agricultural land use on the nitrate leaching into deeper soil layers
  • Development of landmanagement strategies for protection of waters
  • Development of fertiliser-systems with increased N efficiency to winter wheat, maize and potatoes
  • Possibilities for the reduction of N leaching with catch crops
  • Cultivar-based differences of the N uptake of winter wheat and potatoes
  • Optimisation of potato cultivation for starch production
  • Detection of plant stand variation in agronomical important crops using field-spectroscopic measurements
  • Observation of winter wheat crops by means of laser-induced chlorophyll fluorescence as a prerequisite for a small-scale (site-specific) N application
  • Investigations to the genotypical variability of N efficiency in winter barley
  • Adaption of soybean to tropical soils with low pH value and Al-toxicity
  • Qualitative determination of bound Atrazin residues in the soil and long-term performance of Triazines for the estimation of groundwater endangerment
